So excited for this tool, the handle was too large for the hole in the tool, which required me to shave down some of the wood, which did splinter the handle. there are no assembly instructions included or on the website (at least that I see.)

Thank you for the honest feedback, though I'm sorry to hear about your experience. These handles are intentionally made slightly larger than the tool head so that they are not loose (since each handle and each hoe may vary ever so slightly). During assembly the intention is that the tool head itself shaves-down the wood on the handle so that it is exactly right, which requires the use of a hammer or mallet. Because it can be a little difficult, we offer them assembled and do so using our hydraulic press. We do have some assembly videos for similar hoes (here, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBO0Fn0-aTM), but not for this one exactly. Your feedback is well received and we'll get to work on instructions to provide for future customers both to avoid confusion and to better inform shopping choices.
